Ethnologist and cultural anthropologist, pedagogue. The main focus of his interests is urban anthropology, contemporary socio-cultural phenomena (especially the issue of deindustrialization changes, social awareness of post-industrial urban communities in Upper Silesia, problems of revitalization of post-industrial areas), cultural identity of local communities, regional, multicultural and intercultural education, as well as social integration issues for people with disabilities. He has conducted numerous field studies in Upper and Lower Silesia, Podlasie, Małopolska, and the Dąbrowa Basin area. He is the author of nearly two hundred scientific, popular science and didactic publications, including monographs, articles, editorial work and textbook-like positions. He co-created course and workshop programs for primary and high school teachers in the field of regional, multicultural and intercultural education, which are carried out in teacher training and career counseling centers throughout the country. Reviewer of publications and projects in the field of regional education. He was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit for his work in promoting science and education as well as social work.
