SPECIALIZED TRAINING IN SOCIAL ASSISTANCE ORGANIZATION

Responding to the needs of the region, the Higher School of Administration has prepared a proposal for training in the organization of social assistance. The Minister of Family and Social Policy has given consent for its organization. The training is aimed at employees of social assistance organizational units who aim to acquire the qualifications expected from candidates for managerial positions in these units, individuals functioning in the sphere of social assistance, for example within non-governmental, social, and public benefit organizations as well as churches and religious associations, and all those aiming to deepen their knowledge, skills, and competencies regarding the functioning of the social assistance system and the specific character of institutions operating within it.

The training lasts for 2 semesters, and attendees participate in 265 hours of didactic classes conducted by experienced practitioners and highly qualified academic staff.

The prepared program guarantees the possibility of deepening knowledge acquired during professional work, but also prepares to become a leader of institutions operating in the sphere of social assistance. During the training, attendees take on various new social roles, thanks to which the training has practical value and actually strengthens the professional competences of participants.

The training program is fully in line with the minimum program defined in the Regulation of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy of September 26, 2012, on specialization in the field of social assistance organization (Journal of Laws of September 28, 2012, item 1081). Specialized training program

The program is in line with the minimum program for specialization in the field of social assistance organization defined in § 2 of the Regulation of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy of September 26, 2012, on specialization in the field of social assistance organization (Journal of Laws of 2012, item 1081) and includes the following thematic blocks:

Module I. Contemporary directions of social policy development in the global, European, and local perspective – 20 hours.

Module II. Elements of organization and management in social assistance – 90 hours, including not less than 7 hours for each of the thematic blocks:

  1. managerial staff in social assistance, including leadership skills, organization of own work, time management, and problem-solving,
  2. human resource management,
  3. inter-organizational management at the local level, taking into account non-public entities in social assistance,
  4. supervisory management and guidance,
  5. management of the finances of social assistance organizational units,
  6. including financial planning, implementation, and control of the financial plan’s implementation, quality management systems in social assistance institutions,
  7. managerial control;

Module III. Elements of ethics – 10 hours.

Module IV. Tasks of organizational units of social assistance of the commune, district, and voivodeship – 20 hours.

Module V. Evaluation of actions, methods, and techniques of research used in social assistance – 20 hours. Module VI. Selected legal issues, with particular emphasis on administrative law, labor law, public procurement law, family law, and personal data protection law – 30 hours.

Module VII. Selected issues related to the regulations on social assistance and social security – 15 hours. Module VIII. Public relations, social advertising, and promotion of activities in social assistance – public relations (PR) – 20 hours.

Module IX. Mediation and negotiation in social assistance – 10 hours.

Module X. Stress and professional burnout – 10 hours.

Module XI. Consultations concerning the thesis required to obtain specialization – 10 hours.

Module XII. Study visits – observations of institutions operating in the field of social assistance – 10 hours.

 Training Staff

The training is conducted by lecturers meeting the conditions specified in § 4 paragraph 3 of the Regulation of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy of September 26, 2012 on specialization in the field of social assistance organization, i.e., those with higher education and at least three years of professional experience in training or professional development of social assistance staff or in institutions and entities operating in the field of social assistance.

Completion of Specialized Training and Diploma Acquisition

  • Specialized training concludes with an oral exam consisting of two parts:
  1. The first part involves checking knowledge on the issues covered by the minimum curriculum scope, referred to in § 2 of the Regulation of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy of September 26, 2012 on specialization in the field of social assistance organization (Journal of Laws of 2012, item 1081).
  2. The second part of the exam involves defending a diploma thesis.
  • Specialization is obtained after passing the final exam before the Examination Committee for Specialization in the Organization of Social Assistance, hereinafter referred to as “the Committee”.
  • The person who has obtained the specialization receives a diploma of specialization.

The form of training – specialized training will be conducted in a hybrid manner, i.e., part of the classes will be in the form of remote learning, and part will be at the University premises.

Training schedule – sessions take place on Saturdays and Sundays at the University premises.

Training duration – two semesters (the program includes a total of 265 hours)

Cost of Specialized Training and Fee

Training cost:

First semester – PLN 1,400.00.

Second semester – PLN 1,400.00.

Recruitment fee – PLN 200.00, payable once on the day of submitting the application for specialized training.
