Postgraduate Studies: Educational Therapy and Rehabilitation (Corrective Pedagogy)
Designed specifically for teachers, educators, psychologists, and other specialists working with children and adolescents with learning difficulties, the “Educational Therapy and Rehabilitation” (Corrective Pedagogy) program aims to provide the skills and knowledge necessary for effective support of the development and education of students with difficulties.
Who are the studies aimed at?
The postgraduate program “Educational Therapy and Rehabilitation” (Corrective Pedagogy) is intended for teachers, educators, psychologists, and other specialists working with children and adolescents who want to expand their competencies in the field of educational therapy and rehabilitation. The target audience for the studies are mainly graduates of at least first degree studies (Bachelor’s degree) with pedagogical preparation.
What will you learn in the studies?
In the postgraduate program “Educational Therapy and Rehabilitation” (Corrective Pedagogy), the participant will learn to diagnose, plan, and implement the rehabilitation process. They will get to know and understand the essence and mechanisms of developmental and academic disorders. They will acquire skills that will enable them to effectively support people with disabilities in their daily challenges. The participant will also gain knowledge in the field of psychology, pedagogy, educational therapy, and therapeutic work methodology. They will understand the role of educational therapy in the process of education and rehabilitation of people with disabilities. They will also learn to design and implement individual educational-therapeutic programs, adapted to the specifics and needs of people with disabilities. The studies aim to equip participants with the knowledge and skills enabling the provision of professional help to children with learning difficulties, with Asperger’s syndrome or autism, with sensory disorders, with chronic diseases, with concomitant developmental deficits, with intellectual disabilities, with motor dysfunctions, and with special talents. The participant acquires qualifications to hold the position of educational therapist in accordance with § 22 of the Regulation of the Minister of National Education of 01.08.2017 on specific qualifications required from teachers.
The study program is consistent with the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of July 25, 2019, on the standard of education preparing for the profession of a teacher.
