Postgraduate Studies: Ethics for Teachers in School
The training program “Ethics for Teachers in School” is dedicated to individuals who wish to deepen their skills and knowledge in the area of educational ethics. The studies respond to growing social demands regarding responsibility and ethical attitude in pedagogical work. Schools are obliged to organize ethics classes, which has led to a deficit of educators authorized to teach this subject. New qualifications offer opportunities for both individuals just entering the profession and experienced educators seeking new challenges and possibilities.
Who are the studies aimed at?
The postgraduate studies “Ethics for Teachers in School” are designed for teachers, educational workers, pedagogues, and also for everyone who wishes to develop their ethical competencies in the context of educational work. The course is dedicated to teachers who have pedagogical preparation and are interested in gaining new qualifications. With these, they will acquire the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to teach ethics in both primary and secondary schools.
What will you learn in the studies?
The aim of the studies is to equip teachers with substantive and methodological competencies in the field of sciences about morality, philosophy, axiology, as well as the didactics of teaching ethics at all educational stages. The student will become familiar with the key concepts and issues related to ethics in education, will understand and be able to apply key techniques of an ethical approach to the teaching process, will acquire the ability to build relationships based on ethical principles in the school environment, will be able to analyze typical ethical dilemmas that may occur in the educational process, and will understand the role of law and the principles of ethics in the context of pedagogical work.
The studies have an interdisciplinary character, and the training content is in line with the current curriculum. They consider cultural and civilizational changes contributing to deepening axiological pluralism and transformations of the morality of contemporary society.
