Postgraduate Studies: Education for Safety in Schools
The “Education for Safety in Schools” training program is dedicated to individuals who wish to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to create a safe educational environment. The postgraduate studies are a response to the growing social demands regarding protection and safety in schools. Given the threats of the modern world, this is an extremely important field, the basics of which should be known practically by everyone – a student, teacher, parent, headmaster, representative of uniformed services, rescuer, and others. The scale of contemporary threats and conflicts makes defense knowledge necessary not only among uniformed services employees or people associated with broadly understood military affairs, but constitutes the basis for everyday, safe functioning of a person in the world.
Who are the studies aimed at?
The postgraduate studies “Education for Safety in Schools” are intended for teachers, education workers, educators, and anyone who wants to understand and counteract security threats in a school environment.
What will you learn in the studies?
The aim of the studies is to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to cope in crisis situations, reinforce the principles of providing aid, and raise the level of public awareness about wars, conflicts, terrorist attacks, or cyberbullying. The studies have an interdisciplinary character, allowing you to learn about ways to prevent threats to human health and life, apply key crisis management techniques in a school environment, and cope with them both in times of war and peace. Participants will learn to understand the role of law and ethics in the context of school safety and will become familiar with psychological aspects related to safety and threat in schools.
Postgraduate students in the field of Education for Safety and Defense gain qualifications to teach the subject of Education for Safety (EdS) in accordance with the new core curriculum and at all stages of education (primary and secondary school).
