Due to the rapidly increasing number of people with sensory integration disorders, and a growing number of opinions and judgments issued by psychological and pedagogical clinics indicating the need for support development with specialized sensory integration activities, we respond to the demands of the modern labor market and offer you a specialty after which the graduate will be sought after by potential employers! Studying in this field is a chance to acquire an extremely interesting and modern profession, the demand for which among employers will increase year by year!

Studies in the field of Pedagogy with a specialization in sensory integration are interdisciplinary and include knowledge in the fields of psychology, pedagogy, special education, medical sciences, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and related fields. This is a challenge, after which the graduate will be prepared to conduct diagnostic-clinical observation of the child and determine the disorders of sensory integration processes.

Most dysfunctions and developmental disorders of children are usually revealed at pre-school and early school age, which can be effectively remedied if appropriate therapeutic actions are taken early enough. Abnormalities in the organization of sensory perceptions, such as sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch require therapy, which involves exercises in perceiving sensory stimuli and supporting proper development. Sensory integration disorders can also result from damage to the sensory organs, which can occur at any age. These types of disorders do not go away on their own, which is why we are currently seeing an increasing demand for specialists in this field.

The aim of the classes conducted by the sensory integration therapist is to improve the cooperation and coordination between the senses, stimulate disturbed functions, and improve deficient areas. The classes are held in specially prepared sensory integration rooms equipped with appropriate equipment. A graduate of the course – a sensory integration specialist – has knowledge and competence in the field of neurobiological development, correct diagnosis of disorders, as well as designing and evaluating therapeutic actions undertaken. The result of his therapy is the elimination of sensory hypersensitivity if it occurred in the patient or – in case of reduced sensitivity – stimulation of appropriate sensory sensations.

The graduate of the course acquires qualifications to conduct clinical observation, diagnosis, and therapy using the sensory integration method, and to conduct classes supporting the development of children and adolescents with developmental dysfunctions. He or she is able to adjust the child’s work program to the progress made, as well as to adjust the therapy to the individual needs of each patient.
