The program “Education and Therapy of Individuals with Autism Spectrum and Asperger’s Syndrome” dedicated to specialists from various fields offers the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge needed for effective work with individuals on the autism spectrum, including Asperger’s syndrome.
Who are the studies aimed at?
The Postgraduate Studies “Education and Therapy of Individuals with Autism Spectrum and Asperger’s Syndrome” are intended for teachers, educators, psychologists, therapists, as well as parents and caregivers of people on the autism spectrum.
What will you learn in the studies?
The study program includes educational content that will enable participants to acquire current knowledge about individuals with autism, Asperger’s syndrome and other pervasive developmental disorders. Graduates of the postgraduate studies will acquire skills in the field of diagnostic criteria and methods, the latest trends in therapy, methods and forms of work, will gain qualifications to conduct revalidation, therapeutic activities in all types of schools and in the context of early developmental support. The studies prepare teachers and specialists for comprehensive support of the development of a small child with developmental disorders and for providing support to the child’s family. The purpose of the studies is to equip the participants with practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary for effective education, therapy, and support of individuals on the autism spectrum. Participants will learn how to recognize and understand different forms of autism, as well as how to effectively support the development of individuals with these disorders, taking into account their unique needs and abilities. During the course, methods of individual and group work, therapeutic techniques, as well as strategies for coping with difficulties that may be encountered by individuals with autism and their families will be discussed. During the studies, teachers, therapists, psychologists and other interested parties will gain skills necessary to conduct effective therapy and support for individuals on the autism spectrum. The studies also emphasize the importance of a holistic approach, focusing on the person as a whole, which includes their physical, emotional, social and educational needs. The aim of the program is not only to teach participants effective working techniques, but also to increase their understanding of individuals on the autism spectrum, which can contribute to improving the quality of their lives. The study program is in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of July 25, 2019 on the standard of education preparing for the teaching profession.
